Questions, answered plainly
How the day works, what it costs, and what happens if your list runs long.
What does a day cost?
One flat price of $1,300 for the full day, the same for every customer. Small parts are included. It does not change based on how many credits you use.
What counts as a full day?
Over the years, we’ve created a catalog of tasks. Each task carries a credit value, and our experience tells us that a full day holds 20 credits. That could be one big project worth 20, or a stack of small ones that add up to 20.
Do I have to use all 20 credits?
No. The price is the same either way, which is why most people fill it. If you come in under, we will find things during the Home Walk™: caulk, filters, detector batteries, a door that has never closed right. Homeowners almost always have more on the list than they think.
What if I only have one or two small projects?
Here is the honest version. It is not a sustainable business to drive across town for one small fix. The company that does it has to charge enough to cover the drive, the setup and the cleanup, so a two hour job comes back as a four figure bill. Most good tradespeople solve this by not answering the phone for small work at all. That is the problem this company was invented to fix. You are not buying the repair, you are buying the day, so the second project and the tenth cost you nothing extra in drive time or setup. If your list is genuinely two small items, a day is not the right fit yet. Keep a list.
How much is the deposit?
$150 holds your date. Nothing is due at checkout. We collect the deposit on a phone call after you book, and that call is also where we review your task list and any materials you are supplying.
When do I pay?
Nothing is due when you book. The $150 deposit is collected on a phone call after you book. The remaining $1,150 is charged on the day of service once the work is done, to the same card as the deposit unless you give us another one.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
More than 48 hours before your day, cancel or move it as many times as you like and your $150 is refunded or comes with you. Inside 48 hours, a cancellation or a reschedule forfeits the deposit and a new $150 holds a new date. We hold one home per day, so a day given up inside 48 hours is a day we cannot fill.
What time do you arrive?
8:00 AM, on the dot. No four hour window. We are not running late because a job before yours ran long, because there is no job before yours.
What is the Home Walk™?
The first 30 minutes of the day. We walk the house together, coffees in hand, confirm the list, and agree on the order before any tool comes out.
Is the Home Walk part of the working day?
Yes, and the 20 credits already account for it. You are not losing half an hour of work to it.
Do I need to be home all day?
Only for the Home Walk™ at the start. After that it is up to you. Most people leave once the order is set.
Will I know who my professional is before arrival?
Yes. You get a name before the day. Right now that name is the owner’s.
What if a task takes longer than you thought?
That is our problem, not yours. We hold Fridays open on purpose and never book them. If something behind the wall turns out worse than it looked, or the day runs out before your list does, we come back and finish it at no additional charge. You do not pay a second $1,300 because our estimate was wrong.
What if my list is longer than one day?
That is different from us running out of time. If your list is bigger than a day before we start, you will see that while you build it, and you choose whether to add a second day.
Can you fix it if the problem is bigger than it looked?
Usually. If the Home Walk™ shows that a sticking door needs a full slab, or a slider needs replacing in its existing opening, we tell you before we start and swap it into the day if the credits allow. Work that needs the opening reframed or resized is beyond a single day, and we will say so rather than start something we cannot finish.
What guarantee do you provide?
Our labor is guaranteed for 12 months. If something we installed or repaired fails because of how we did it, we come back and make it right at no charge. The guarantee covers our work, not the equipment itself. If a new faucet or ceiling fan fails, that is a manufacturer defect and goes back to them, though we will tell you which it is and help you sort it out.
Do you bring the materials?
Small parts are included at no extra charge: the AC filter, the water filter, door trim, paint, anchors, fasteners. Larger or specialty items like a new faucet, ceiling fan, or appliance are not included. You are welcome to supply your own, or we can pick it up and bill it at cost, never marked up.
Are larger materials approved before you buy them?
You will never be surprised by a materials charge. Small parts are included. Anything larger or specialty is confirmed several times before the day: at checkout when you finalize your task list, again in your confirmation email, again on the deposit call, and again on a call the day before to make sure it is on site. The Home Walk™ is the final check. If something was missed on our side, it is covered under the $1,300.
How do I find my booking again?
Use Look up booking on the Build your day page. Your ticket number or the phone number you booked with will pull it up.
Where do you work?
The Omaha metro. If you are just outside it, ask anyway because we are growing to new locations all the time.
Still have a question?
Send it over and a person will call you back, usually within a couple of hours.
